James and Randi were lured to the paradisiacal island of Ischia by a great desire to celebrate the beginning of the rest of their lives, as a September sun descended over a dreamy Mediterranean seascape.
It wasn’t an easy request for us to accommodate initially, since we had accepted separate engagements to perform in opposite parts of Italy the day before, but we soon understood that they shared an intense love and were so utterly charming that after exchanging a few emails we decided to accept their invitation and managed miraculously to ensure that we met on the same boat, bound for a fabulous five star health and wellness resort… a fabulous setting for a romantic ceremony!
Randi had fallen in love with the azure skies and subtle shades of an ever changing sea, appearing almost green while morphing into varying shades of brilliant blue… her choice of dress perfectly complemented the charm and peace of such natural and peaceful surroundings.
A light sea breeze and the gentle applause of an evening tide welcomed a small contingent of spontaneous guests. The Bride and Groom had not planned to have ‘testimoni’ but while out swimming on the morning of their ceremony they had met a small group of holidaying Italians and before you could say ‘Auguri’, they had invited them to join the festivities and to be witnesses!
An intrigued Hotel Manager and his staff had never before witnessed a spiritual ceremony by their shores and were thrilled that the happy couple had decided to celebrate the most crucial decision of their lives at their prestigious Wellness Resort, a location well known to be a firm favourite of the ‘glitterarti’ both at home and abroad.
Originally known as ‘Pitecusae’, Ischia boasts an ancient and chequered history, shaped by cultural influences left by colonizing Greeks, Romans, Saracens, Turks and Spanish invaders. This sumptuous Island has historically attracted all from Saints to Sirens as well as ardent admirers of beauty, including notable writers, poets and artists.
Ischia’s volcanic thermal waters are the perfect antidote to a stressful and hectic lifestyle. The Newlyweds not only enjoyed relaxing and regenerating mentally and physically but also felt sufficiently rejuvenated in a spiritual sense. By the time their healing experience was almost at an end, they felt more in tune with mind, body and spirit and found they enjoyed their wedding much more!
It was a real pleasure to play a small part in fulfilling their vision of a romantic ceremony by the Neopolitan Gulf… We are so pleased that we were able to share their evident happiness. Their excitement and gratitude was both touching and inspirational…
We are oceans apart, as they live in the States, but know that the tide will always connect us, thanks to the emotional intensity of a very special Wedding ceremony, experienced on one of the most beautiful Islands in the world!
