The winter sun shimmered across the surface of the frozen lagoon… a site so extraordinary that Venetians declared they hadn’t seen anything like it in many years…
A clear blue sky on a crisp early January afternoon welcomed those attending our first ceremony of 2012 held in a magnificent 14th century Palazzo positioned majestically in the very heart of Venice.
Natalie and Alistair had wisely selected an elegant and award-winning 5 Star Luxury Hotel situated close to the Rialto Bridge. Boasting an ancient but unspoilt Noble history, the interior was picture perfect for a sophisticated nuptual event.
The Bride’s regal beauty would have easily inspired any number of the artists who contributed to the Palazzo’s stunning artistic heritage. The ballrooms especially host important treasures created by 17th and 18th century Venetian painters Sebastiano Ricci, Giambattista Tiepolo, Niccolò Bambini and Pietro Longhi.
Natalie’s gorgeous dress gracefully complemented her model figure… As she approached the aisle Alistair’s expression transformed from one of nervousness to complete awe… He maintained this expression throughout the ceremony, his eyes riveted to the crystal blue gaze of his lovely Bride!
Venice is a wonderful winter/spring choice for those who wish to avoid the tourist traffic. The temperatures can be very favourable even in the cooler months but the Bride and Groom wisely opted for an indoor ceremony, which was conducted in an elegant drawing room.
Close friends and family cheered and applauded the newly wed couple from the balcony as they were steered away in style by a Venetian Gondola. One enthusiastic guest bravely decided to serenade them to gain their attention!
As we left by boat the Gondola passed us in the opposite direction and we were delighted to catch sight of a spontaneous kiss! Natalie and Alistair were oblivious to the curious well wishers who passed them by on the water… us includedJ
Their chosen photographer was Adrian Wood, whose excellent reputation is well deserved. We are grateful to him for allowing us to feature this beautiful image, with more gallery images to follow…
Adrian is an extremely busy and popular photographer and you can see why if you visit: http://www.adrianwood-photography.com
We had the great fortune to meet The Bride and Groom in person during the Christmas season. We enjoyed their company so much that time ran away and when we met them again it felt like re-uniting with old friends…
We would like to wish them all the happiness they deserve and to thank them for sharing their unique memory with us… and our readers!
