When Helena and Daniele’s eyes met across a crowded rock bar in Stockholm, both were astounded to discover that they had been learning one another’s mother tongues. Neither could have imagined that their cultures and languages would combine so evocatively in the near future, during a blend of symbolic blessing and civil ceremony, in the grounds of a stunning Villa in the area of Portofino in Liguria.
Since they share an immense passion for the same genre of music, their favourite rock ballads were innovatively featured in classic style, performed by a talented terzetto. The result was extremely entertaining and truly in keeping with the theme of the wedding!
The ceremony was culturally and linguistically diverse. Daniele lovingly pledged his vows in Italian and Helena in Swedish, while readings of a spiritual and literary nature were performed in English, including a poem dedicated to the Philosophy of Love, in the true spirit of Romanticism and composed by one of Daniele’s favourite poets, infamously known for being ‘mad, bad and dangerous to know’ (very rock!)
We could see that the couple’s signature tune, ‘Catch The Rainbow’ (by Rainbow) metaphorically transported the Bride and Groom ‘away on ships of wonder’ accompanied by an enthusiastic audience, comprising family and friends, many of whom were fellow heavy rockers.
With the most romantic and heartfelt body of the ceremony completed, the ceremony concluded with a reading of the Italian Articles, pertaining to the legal validity of a Civil Marriage.
We had a blast at this ceremony and would like to thank Daniele and the beautiful Helena for having invited us to officiate at such an excitingly unique marriage. We know that they will forever remain blissfully happy and think it is accurate to say… they rock one another’s world!
Don’t you think they make the perfect couple!!
